Teenage boy opened fire, killing nine people

After the shooting incident in Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School, Serbian President Vucic suggested lowering the country’s age of criminal responsibility, lowered to 12 years old. The country's current law about juvenile offenders stated that in order to charge a certain individual with a crime he/she must be at least 14 years old. For this matter I agreed, knowing that the shooting incident was committed by a 13-year-old boy  I t does mean that some children are capable now of doing crime. Just like President Vucic said “Children are in the present times becoming more adults earlier” and the factor for this was because we are now living in the 21st century where everyone is consumed by modernization and advancement. We have to realize that even though modernization and advancement bring benefit to humanity it does cause bad factors to children who are commonly exposed to this at an early age. Access to information is very convenient today. Either bad or good, children can access that through their mobile gadgets, and from what they see on the screen they perceive and learn that stuff. Parents must hold liability also for their children's crimes for which they are accountable to discipline and guide their children on the right path and they failed to do so. Providing for children's basic needs and wants is not just the role given to every parent to enable them to take care of their children, young people walk the wrong path because sometimes their parents fail to show their love and support to their children. See, this is the disease brought by modernization that we used to live in today and if we continuously ignore it more societal problems will probably be created.
