A  thirteen-year-old boy opened fire at his school Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in the Serbian capital of Belgrade, killing eight children and one security guard on Wednesday, May 3.

Citizens from the Serbian Capital of Belgrade are grieving after the school shooting incident in the area that killed eight innocent children, one security guard who died after trying to stop the shooter from entering, and other reported casualties of six children and one teacher who were taken to the hospital for injuries. The shooter brought two guns, one 9mm pistol, and a smaller caliber pistol in a bag, as well as four Molotov cocktails. Both were owned by his parents who had several pieces of weapons at home.

After a shooter killed his first victim, the security guard of the school, he then entered the history classroom that was near the school entrance where he started to shoot some students. Afterward, he committed a horrible crime the shooter called the police, waited for them to arrive to get him arrested, and was later filmed being taken away by the police with handcuffs in his hand and a jacket over his head. The intention of the attack is still unclear but the authorities conducted several tests on the suspect to determine whether the boy was under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or drugs.

Meanwhile, Serbian officials stated on Wednesday that the shooting attack was planned by the shooter after a displayed sheet of paper that showed the shooter's plans for the attack was recovered upon conducting the investigation. Authorities also arrested the suspect's parents for investigation and his father was ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours because of “suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of serious offense against general security” said the Serbian Prosecutor Office.
