Nabueños Boa-Boahan festival at Nabua, Camarines Sur was celebrated with filled of joy and excitement held on last May 2, 2023.
Nabua Camarines Sur streets shined with colorful and beautiful parade costumes along with wonderful street performances of Nabueños in celebration of the Boa-Boahan Festival 2023. Many people came to witness and enjoy this magnificent festival although the celebration stopped for a few years due to the worldwide pandemic, the Boa-Boahan Festival 2023 came good as if there’s no stain of a few years' pause. Additionally, it became successful because of the active participation of every barangays in festival parades and activities while the local government unit of Nabua prepared a lot of events and prices for enjoyable celebrations for everyone. The festival's main highlight is the re-enactment of how early Nabueños settlers survived and the praise of pagan gods. The rites include the traditional Boa feast during the pre-Spanish era colonization in the town, “Boa'' means coconut embryos, and believed that the coconut was used by Nabueños pagans to offer to their old deities, and up until now the tradition continues. Nabueños show their gratefulness for every blessing they receive, especially a thanksgiving for the bountiful coconuts harvest they have every year in which the towns are very rich.
