Singapore's Prime Minister has recovered from COVID-19

Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong tested negative for COVID-19 and has now recovered seven days after testing positive for COVID-19 for the first time. 

On May 22, Mr. Lee tested positive for COVID-19 following state visits to South Africa and Kenya.  And on Sunday,  Mr. Lee posted on Facebook that he is now COVID-19 negative and will return to work on Monday.  "I am now COVID-19 negative and will be back to work on Monday. Thanks to everyone who sent your good wishes! he wrote. 

In his first official visit to AfricaPrime Minister Lee met South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in Cape Town, and the two had their lunch together as official guests. The two leaders will take part in a business roundtable with representatives from both sides of the business community. Deputy President Paul Mashatile also welcomed Prime Minister Lee for supper and invited him to a gathering with Singaporeans living abroad. The Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto met Prime Minister Lee also in Nairobi and invited him to a formal lunch.

Following from this, Mr. Lee said he was scheduled to attend the bicentennial celebrations at Raffles Institution on Sunday but that he should "take this weekend to rest up" at the advice of his doctors. 

On Sunday, Raffles Institution celebrated its 200th Founder's Day. Since its founding in 1823, Mr. Lee said the school has upheld a "strong ethos and spirit" and developed a reputation for student leadership, academic excellence, and service to Singapore. On behalf of Mr. Lee, Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing spoke at Raffles Institution.
