Reopen search and investigation of the missing child Madeleine McCann

The search for Madeleine McCann, an infant who vanished in Portugal’s southern Algarve region 16 years ago, was reopened by Portuguese police with the assistance of German and British officials on May 24, 2023. 

At the Arade dam region,30 miles away from the resort of Praia da Luz where Madeleine McCann disappeared, Police were spotted searching the whole areas around the dam diligently finding clues, evidence, and traces of Madeleine McCann a 3-year-old daughter of Kate and Gerry McCann who was last seen alive in 2007 after its disappearance. 

Authorities focused their search in this area because this was the place where the lead suspect Christian Brueckner has often been spotted before. According to Braunschweig prosecutor Christian Wolters released statements in German public broadcaster NDR, 

Wolters said, 

“We have indications that we could find evidence there. I don’t want to say what that is exactly, and I also don’t want to say where these indications come from.” 

“The only thing that I would clarify is that it doesn’t come from the suspect — so we don’t have a confession or anything similar now, or an indication from the suspect of where it would make sense to search, ” adding that “it was other indications that prompted us to conduct this search.”

In their latest search result, according to authorities Christian Brueckner, the main suspect, was seen in the Algarve reservoir only a few days after Maddie vanished, according to information provided to the authorities. So in regards to this German officials requested a search of the remote picnic area camping on the edge of the reservoir close to Silves after receiving new information. Brueckner had called this location his "little paradise" in a menacing manner. Since then, expert divers have studied the Barragem do Arade reservoir, and some 30 officers have fanned out in a line and started probing and scouring the ground near the Arade dam with rakes and other implements that resemble hoes. In addition, police examined the area on both sides of the dam with sniffer dogs and a drone. Additionally, firefighters used a dinghy to scour the reservoir according to a BBC news report today. 

Madeleine McCann went missing 16 years ago, she was taken away while she was in her bed in the same room with her twin brother and sister in the resort of Praia da Luz, Portugal where her family went on vacation. It is also reported that the abduction happened while her parents were not around since the couple was having dinner with friends at a nearby restaurant.

Singapore's Prime Minister has recovered from COVID-19

News  Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong tested negative for COVID-19 and has now recovered seven days after testing positive for COVID-19 for the first time.  On May 22, Mr. Lee tested positive for COVID-19 following state visits to South Africa and Kenya.  And on Sunday,  Mr. Lee posted on Facebook that he is now COVID-19 negative and will return to work on Monday.  "I am now COVID-19 negative and will be back to work on Monday.
