PH: Tropical Cyclone “Amang”

Wind signal no. 1 of tropical cyclone “Amang” in the Luzon and Visayas area was announced by PAG-ASA Weather Services this day, April 11, 2023.
As of 4:00 pm of the afternoon this day tropical cyclone “Amang” was a tropical depression with 70 kph gustiness, 55 kph maximum sustained wind and with 30 kph speed moving to west. Right now, 22 places from Luzon and Visayas area are under tropical cyclone wind signal no. 1, such as Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, Quezon, Polilo Island, Marinduque, Masbate, Burias Island, Ticao Island, Rizal, Laguna, Aurora, Bulacan, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela, Biliran, Eastern Samar and Northern Samar.
These places under warning signal no. 1 will experience rainfall, wind and be advised to not go fishing due to expected high ocean waves. For the next two-three days the 2023 first tropical cyclone of the Philippines will continuously move to North West ward of the country, going to Western part of Central or Northern Luzon and by Friday tropical cyclone “Amang” will land at the Northern Catanduanes but consider as a low-pressure area type. Meanwhile, those places that were under signal warning no. 1 suspended all the classes tomorrow in accordance with the College of Higher Education and the Department of Education issued a Memorandum today in regards to the bad weather condition caused by tropical cyclone “Amang”.
