On Saturday, April 22, Blackpink once again performs at Coachella stage following their weekend 1 performance with another high-energy and equally impressive performance.
BLACKPINK were the first K-pop act to perform at Coachella in 2019, and they are the first K-pop headliners this year. An elaborate synchronized drone display preceded their weekend 1 set, changing colors and taking the form as a caterpillar, astronaut, paper crane, and other shapes.
Members Jisso, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa of the girl group Blackpink perform some of their most popular songs, such as "Pink Venom," "How You Like That," "Kill This Love," "Pretty Savage," "Whistle," and "Kick It," before moving on to sing their individual solo singles: Jennie began with her brand-new song "You and Me," Jisoo sang her most recent single "Flower," and Rosé sang a rendition of her songs "Gone" and "On the Ground." Lisa also performs her song Money, "which really hypes the crowd.
Since the band's debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has been sweeping the music industry. They have been labeled as the "biggest girl group in the world" and the highest-charting female Korean act in the United States. Their second album, "Born Pink," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their single "Ice Cream."
BLACKPINK's performance was not only about the music but also about giving the audience spectacular visuals, before closing out their performance the members took the moment to give a message to their fans saying that it is a “Dream to us, we’re completely shocked,” and how they “worked really hard all the way from Korea,” and saying that the experience is “unbelievable.”
